Kratom Withdrawals

Kratom Withdrawals

Handling Kratom Withdrawals is like getting the flu. Before I go into the Kratom Withdrawal symptoms, let me explain how it happened to me. I have been on a strict regiment of Kratom for about 6 months now. I literally take about 1 gram which is about 1/4 teaspoon, twice to three times a day. This has been enough for me to handle the pain from my leg break last year. But recently, I overdid it with my leg, add in getting less breaks in a day, and all these issues came to a head with more pain.

I decided to do something about it, in the hope that more Kratom would be better. At that time, I wasn’t worried about any Kratom withdrawals, just taking away the pain. So I upped my dosage to 2 grams per ingestion and ended up taking it four times in one day. Just that one day of 8 grams versus 2-3 grams, was enough for me to go into withdrawals the next day.

For most people, and it seems me included, Kratom Withdrawals consists of flu like behavior. The first day off of Kratom, I had a fever and had the chills. I toughed that one out, slept with a blanket, which is not my norm – my wife noticed. My second symptom of Kratom Withdrawals was that my body was sensitive to touch, which means when my wife touched me, it was like a grating feeling with a bit of pain. My wife already knows that when I have a flu, not to touch me, but this was worse. My third Kratom Withdrawals symptom was aching joints. This is the only symptom which has persisted more than one day, but its easily dealt with.

To alleviate the joint pain – without taking Kratom, is to take 2 ibuprofen (or 1 Voltaren) and 2 acetaminophen. Its actually a remedy for pain I used for a few years with my achy feet, as is a symptom of nerve damage (aka Neuropathy). Mine runs in the family, but some people get it from having Diabetes. I am sure its a symptom of other things as well, so you should consult your physician if you have any of these symptoms before taking Kratom.

There are 2 Kratom withdrawal symptoms which I didn’t experience which I fully expected to have. I expected to also have a runny nose and visits to the porcelain gods. As it is however, neither of those symptoms occurred. My nose wasn’t running more then normal, nor did I feel nausea. I am glad that those 2 aren’t part of the Kratom Withdrawal symptoms for me. But I have found that ever during a flu, that Chlorpheniramine Maleate will often stop my nose from running for a time.

So there you have the 3 Kratom Withdrawals symptoms.

  • Achy Joints
  • Low grade fever
  • Sensitivity to touch

Again, these seem like a flu, and for me thus far, only the achy joints have lasted about 2 days, which again was alleviated by 2 OTC Tylenol and 2 OTC Motrin.

If you’re still reading, let me tell you what’s next for me. I am going to tough out the Kratom Withdrawals for a couple days, and then switch to a low dosage of Opium Lettuce (Lactuca Virosa). I will likely augment the Opium Lettuce with ibuprofen and acetaminophen for a few days. This should negate any further Kratom Withdrawals. But it can take upto one month for the Kratom to completely clear your system. Kratom Withdrawals on the other hand, are only expected to last 3-7 days.
